NYCO turbine oil and multi-purpose grease qualified on Dash 8-Q400

Qualification of NYCO products

Turbonycoil 600 – turbine oil – on PW150 engines

& Nyco Grease GN148 – multipurpose grease – for Collins Aerospace landing gears

NYCO announces Turbonycoil® 600, a synthetic standard turbine oil, is now approved for use on Pratt & Whitney Canada PW150 engine powering De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited Dash 8-Q400.

This new qualification was carried out, in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney Canada, De Havilland, and Luxembourg airline Luxair, thanks to a flight test campaign conducted since 2017 on the Luxembourg Dash 8-400 fleet. In fact, following a regular sampling of more than 40,000 cumulative flight hours on 20 aircraft, and rigorous engine inspections by Pratt & Whitney, the Turbonycoil® 600 demonstrated very good performance in line with the engine manufacturer’s expectations.

Also, following Collins Aerospace’s streamlining project in Toronto, the Nyco Grease GN 148, a multi-purpose grease, is now qualified on the Collins Aerospace landing gear that equips the Dash 8-Q400.

These two qualifications allow NYCO to extend its range of qualified products to airlines with a regional fleet, but also to provide a better support to Pratt & Whitney Canada for its full range of turboprops and turboshaft engines.

Approved against demanding specifications, including SAE AS 5780 SPC Class and MIL-PRF-23699 STD Class, Turbonycoil® 600 has received certification for use by all major engine manufacturers. It has logged more than 30 years of experience in jet engines of military and commercial aircraft.
